Instead of spending this coming week pushing a cart through the lowelly, fluorescent lit aisles of Dierberg’s or Schnuck’s, get out and about to your local Farmer’s Market! St. Louis has the advantage of being a city amidst some of the most beautiful countryside, giving us the benefit of local farm fresh groceries just a few miles outside of the city and county. Now that the summer has come, most of the markets are up and running for business throughout the fall season. Here are a few of the most lively markets around town:

Get together after work from 4-7pm on Wednesday evenings to cross out those mid-week grocery items and hurtle hump day with some cold beers and live music. Located in Maplewood at the bottleworks, it’s a great central location to decipher the phonetics of “Sh-laugh-lee” or “Sh-laugh-lie”.
